Premacy Sticky Gear Change

Premacy Sticky Gear Change
Hi all
I'm a new member. I've just picked up a 03 Premacy Sport (UK) and love it. However i have noticed that the gear change is really sticky and I often have trouble going from 2nd to 1st gear and occasionally it needs a fair amount of force to get it in. I sometimes have the same problem with reverse too. Any ideas what the problem could be? The gearbox feels ok with the engine off.
The car has fsh and has covered 60k.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Mark

Does double-declutching, or holding momentarily in neutral help?
It sounds suspiciously like clutch and/ or throwout bearing, although they usually last somewhat longer than that. Before jumping the gun, make sure the pedal end adjustments are correct, the return spring at the master cylinder is in good shape and the pedal pivot is clean and lubricated; also a little shot of molydenum disulphide lubricant into the slave cylinder boot area helps sometimes.
