RE: Remote start installed!
The remote start is awesome! The new security system is much better then the stock one and the remote start uses the dash lights alot to help you recognize commands.
Here are some pics of the visible components of the remote start from Mazda
L.E.D. Alarm System/Service/Valet Notification
- This LED tells you when the remote start in running, and if the security system is on. It also tells you how someone broke in if they alarm went off as well as if the alarm/remote start system is enabled via the programming button
Remote
Hood Switch
- Connects the remote start to the negative terminal of the battery so that the remote start cannot be started if the hood is open
Warning label
- Couldnt get a good picture of the label, but there it is
Emergency Override/Programming/Service/Valet Button

RE: Remote start installed!
Hey, its the Mazda Remote start system. The part costs $300 and then you have to pay for the labor to get it installed. Go to your mazda dealership and ask them about it and get a quote. It should take about 3 hours to install. Once you get it, you will always be starting your car with it cuz its so cool

mikeryan161, you dont have to have the key in the ignition to start the car. There is a card in the remote start system on the car that knows the signal to bypass the immoblizer system. The remote start module itself is all wired up underneath the dashboard so you will never see it. To actually drive the car you have to put the key in and turn it to the 2/ON position to drive the car away. No worries about anyone stealing your car either, it locks it 3 different times throughout the whole startup process.
