Default removing tar on car...

there's been alot of road construction in my area and as a result, i've gotten tar chunks [:@] (small sized specks) on my car and I really would like to remove them... I could just go around picking at them one by one with my finger nail but I wanted to possibly find a product that would help get them off completely.

anyone use/recommend a good product? thanks!

I have seen actual tar remover in stores for this purpose. But through the years of working around detailers is to use mineral spirits. This can be bought about everywhere like wal mart, hardware stores like true value, or home depot in the paint department.

Goo Gone works....It's a citrus based cleaner (It specifically states it is safe on automotive paint.)

I've used it before many times.....Best bet is to hit it with the GG then give it a good wash/wax.

works pretty darn good, i've used other products but those needed to apply the product, then wipe, and then apply the product again until the tar was gone. This goo gone application took the tar off much better than the other products that i have tried... i recommend it!

Don't need to buy any special products to remove tar. Just use white spirits' or turps, which can be bought from any hardwear store. will not spoil the car paintwork.
