Tony,
I'm curious your 05 mazda3 has TPMS sensors? I have an 06 mazda3i touring and I don't have TPMS sensors. I tought the mazda3 came with TPMS sensors in 07, I could be wrong but like I said my 06 doesn't have them.

Thanks for the replies. I'm off to purchase a pair of Yokohama YK520's
2- I will opt for the extra $15.
3- Wife's 05 came with the sensors
4- They offer pressure sensors because my wife never checks her tires. I'm buying two new tires after I noticed she took a 2X3" chunk out of the sidewall of her Goodyear's - don't know how long ago. Wife wouldn't know if she had a blowout at 80MPH without the sensor.
These sensors aren't deal makers. I wouldn't purchase one as an option, but it is there.
As for DRL's, I like them on my Forester.

Ok. Here's the bottom line.
I purchased two YK520's today at Discount Tire/ American Tire
They offered a TPMS rebuild at $7.50 each.
He showed me what is involved - Change of a a grommet and a valve core.
The sales guy had a hard time keeping a straight face when I asked why it cost so much. Said he didn't know, but that it was easier to change while mounting new tires. I agreed on the ease, but declined the offer anyway. Big profit item. Probably carries a nice commission. Can't blame a company for trying to make a buck here and there, or to keep employees happy
BTW I read a few reviews that rated 520's as quiet - they aren't.
End of this chapter for me - I hope.
Thanks again guys.
