RE: transmissions
funny you should mention trannys! my 1989 b2200 just started getting very hard to shift, it's been cold, like minus 5 degrees, but haven't previously had this problem at cold temps. it's very hard to get into any gear, clutch problem? there's no slipping at all. any thoughts?

Hey Jeff,
No it's not the clutch. It's the fluid, it's to thick. I don't know what fluid you have in it, but if it's gear oil, don't use it anymore. I would drain out what's inthere and put regular ATF in there and you should be good to go. Give that a try and let me know. Hope this helps.

RE: transmissions
Hello,
One other thing also. After you change the fluid. If this is a 4.0 engine, you have the M5R1 trans. The only problem these units ever give is that they leak out at 3 rubber plugs on the back of theshifter top. They then run low on fluid and wipe out. This is the fix. Locate the 3 rubber plugs and pop them out with a screw driver. Clean them up and put some kind of RTV around them and push them back in. They will never leak again and you will be good to go. Here is a pic to view, well if some one will tell me how I will upload a pic!!! Thankyou
