Default Water temp gauge

Hi, i have a 2000 Protege with 1.6 engine. I'm trying to install electric temp gauge and not sure where to put the sensor. Was told by the Mazda dealer that there was a blank plug i could remove by the thermostat housing, but there is none. I need help.

You can buy adapters that you cut the radiator hose & fit the adapter into, and your temp sensor screws into the adapter.
