Default 1998 626 V6 Fuel Pump?

I have a 1998 626 V6 and I'm having fuel pump trouble . Start the car and within 5-15 minutes it will die. Removed the crossover fuel hose to check for residual pressure in the line when it dies, hardly any pressure at all. If I turn the ignition completely off and then back on you can hear the fuel lines pressurizing and the car will start immediately and run 5-15 minutes or more and then die again. Turn ignition to off and then back on it starts right up. Does this seem like a fuel pump problem or maybe some fuel pump controller(modulator) whatever part causing these symptons? What is the fuel pump assy. comprised of, just the motor fuel gauge float or is there something else on the assy controlling the fuel pump?

Thanks, Charlie

Well I changed the fuel pump but it made no difference. It ran for about 20 minutes and died. It takes from 5-10 minutes before it will start again and will run for 5-15 minutes and die. I wonder if there is an electronic control of some sort that is overheating.

Any help appreciated, Charlie
