323 1.6i missfire problem
Hi
i have a 1993 323 1,6i 16v, wich is starting to give me a headache.
I have changed the sparkplugs, ignitor and cap, the wires, air and fuelfilter, still it slightly missfires and its most noticable when the car idles. i pulled the new sparkplugs back out for a look, and they were already black. When the car idles and i pick off the plugwires one by one, its really not a big diffrence on the idling wich one i pull off, it still missfires about the same.
i also checked the timingbelt and the ignition, and its all timed correctly.
Does anyone have any suggestion to what causes this missfiring?
Thanks in advance for ur help

same problem
hey mate
i had the same problem as yours and i had the igniter caps checked and spark plugs and all that and then it turned out to be the o2 sensor on the air filter box... i just had to take it down to the auto electicians and then they machined the sensor and it runs well now
it turned out that there was an excessive amount of carbon build up on the sensor so it couldnt read the amount of air getting put into the engine properly and the revs kept dropping out of it when idling. so yer they will machine it and then it should run better after that... or you can take it out yourself and clean it CAREFULLY with a cloth or tissue... and i mean carefully cause if you break it its almost 350 for a new one haha
hope that has helped
