Default RE: 626 with issues

Is it a V6 or 4 cylinder? Give a check to the throttle cable and make sure it is not holding the throttle open first off. Also pull the intake hose off the throttle body and make sure a rag or something was not sucked into the intake and caught up on the throttle valve. Have seen that a few times. I would expect a vacuum leak to be causing more of a rough idle rather that elevated to 2000 rpm but if is a 4 cyl check the intake maniold gasket as they have been known to blow out at the bottom corners especially.
