Default 929 timing belt

I have recently purchased a 1990/91 Mazda 929 with a verified 63,000 km. Early service history is great and by Mazda dealers, but from 32,000km, in 2005, there is little information. The handbook specifies 105000 km intervals for cam belt replacement, but no time limit. There is no evidence of the timing/cam belt having been replaced. I've asked the local Mazda Importer and they say Mazda timing/cam belts only have a distance limit for replacement. My 929 model is JMO HC10E2. Has anyone had experience of a belt breaking before 105,000km? Or just after? By the way, I have not experienced a failure. The car is running beautifully. I just want to be sure as I was with BMW in the mid 1980's and there were many failures until the factory was persuaded there was a problem.

No response, so looks as though the advice I was given was correct. Thanks, David
