I checked for spark(good), i checked the fuel filter & lines fuel coming in, starter is good, i changed plugs and wires(thought it was oil hitting plugs and wires from leaky valve cover gasket, NOT IT!), i open purge valve, also tried gas cap open in case of vapor lock, i changed cap and rotor, after certain attempts to solve i had success starting the car for a bit(with the longest being a week of starting after the most recent attempt changing cap and rotor) i thought that was it cause its been starting but today it started all over again. Car won't start and i hear a strange rumble noise or shifting or movement type noise coming from rear of car to front between cranks. Also this problem may be happening after wet weather, but not sure may be a coincidence as i thought before after every fill in the gas tank it seemed to happen but this time it didnt do that, it just would not start. Also it seems to happen if i dont start for a day and then attempt to start, also could be a coincidence, but its done this before and in this case of not starting now. i did not start the car the whole day of thursday since wed eve of this week and then attempted to start today friday and would not start, it also rained pretty hard between the day of not starting(wed-thur) and today(fri).

im lost, im thinking of switching to a protege but ihave so much invested in this car.

any ideas? do these cars have ignition modules? someone mentioned something to me recently that they had a no starting problem but they were not sure what type of module it was but said that it was a module causing the prob.
