99 626 Gas Pedal too hard, also had this on 96 Protege"
I searched this topic and found nothing. Hard to believe.
I have a 99 626 2L. The gas pedal is hard too push. I joke that the car does not want to go. Kinda lazy car. I had the same experience on my prior car, a 96 Protege'. I had a 95 Camry 3L before the Protege, & I joke that the Camry liked to go Go GO!
So how do you Pros back off the throttle spring to make the 626 want to go Go GO!
Thanks in advance!

I would try spraying a teflon based lubricant like Tri-Flow into the cable housings at both ends (one in the engine compartment and one behind the gas pedal in the cab. I might also try to spray where the cable hooks up to the throttle body to see if that hasn't somehow become dried and stiff through the years. I would also spray carb cleaner of some variety into the throat of the throttle body where the hinges of the butterfly flap connect.
Good luck.
Good luck.
