I need some advice on a potentail fuse/electrical problem.

A couple of weeks ago, I plugged my air pump into the cigarette lighter to pump up a tire. I heard a clicking noise and the air pump wouldn't work. As I was checking the pump over, I noticed some exposed wires so I assumed the problem came from that and threw it out. Now I've noticed that the cigarette lighter is not working, and the trunk button (on the driver's side door towards the bottom of the door) are not working at all. I replaced the fuse inside the car that was identified for the cigarette lighter, but that still doesn't seem to be working. And I can't seem to identify which fuse is for the trunk button.

Anybody know if this could be a fuse problem, or something more serious?

Thanks for the advice,
Dawn

The only fuse for the trunk release is labeled "D LOCK" which is a 30A. I cannot see how the two problems are related though. The easiest way to check fuses is with a test light. On the end of each fuse is two slots to check for power on each side of the fuse. If you find one with no power then you can narrow down the problem.
