RE: auto to 5speed conversion
the converson is pritty easy if you can do a clutch job ,you can do this swap ,you may need less parts than you would think
i swaped out my escort a/t to a 5 spd the car has the shifter hole &or the cable shefter holes you would ned the teans with all mounts
fly wheel clutch ect and bolts ,now you may or may not ned the drive shafts you mibht not need the starter a escort hase the same
starter and drive shafts call a parts couter and check part numbers you will need the clutchpeddle assbley slave plus you will need to jumper the nuthal safty stwitch yes my swap was in a escort /protage took one weekend by my self

hay if you have a parts car you are set the a/t ecm is seprate most of the time on sone cars you may get a higher idle on a cold start
if your parts cae has the ecm you should be able to just swappit out the plug will be the same most of the time .when talking tho some counter guys&gals you tell them what your trying ans they laugh you off, thare may be no difrence in the main ecm when just one can do ,sorry i ramble on some times ,hope that helpsthe revesr light was easy to find you will need to pull out the shift lock cable gose to the brake peddle .the intiror trim match right up its pritty easy ,unless you want the clutch lockout to work ,not a real issue

RE: auto to 5speed conversion
I did the conversion and it was easy. (once I finished of course) There is great info on the net on this but watch out on some of the info as it is not correct. Electrical was no problem at all. Same wiring but had to jump pins on the automatic harness so car computer thinks it is in park is all. I have all the links bookmarked and if you would like them I will post. If you have any questions holler. I was lucky to have time for the project so it went smooth without a hitch. Took all parts needed from a probe for cluch and linkage. No cutting or even drilling and everything went in fine. Held my breath on electronics end but ran into no problems.
