Default Error Code P0042

Hello forum members! I'm a Noob here, and a new owner of a 00 Mazda 626 LX.
We just purchased the car with 91,8XX miles with a 2.0 and a 5 speed.
Runs great, but the check engine light come on with the error code of P0042 which is the Evap system. Code said there is a small leak in the system.
I checked and tightened the gas cap because that's usually the first thing that will trip the code.
I cleared the code, and I'm going to go take it for a drive later.
Has anyone else had the same code or similar problem?
I'm a mechanic by trade and a truck driver, so fixing these old gals will be a piece of cake.
Were there any inherent problems with these cars? Anything I should look for?
I would appreciate any info on these cars.
Thanks all for reading my post, and I look forward in trying to help others out in the forums.

Hey, Mailman:
Welcome to the forum! A 626 with a manual gearbox. I believe this comes close to 626 heaven. The automatic can be problematic. Check on carsurvey.org.
At 91K it is not even halftime for your ride.

....and welcome to the Mazda world of vacuum leaks and EGR gunk!
Add your car into the signature so we can easily refer to it.
