mazda 323 RPM indicator
Hi all,
I'm totally new to tis forum, but lets get down to business....
I own an old mazda 323 from 1989 (bf-model). It's got an 1324cc engine sedan. The cockpit of the car show three guages:
- Speed indicator
- Fuellevel indicator
- Temperature indicator
This model 323 originally come with RPM indicator, but my 323 hasn't got one.
Can I just replace my original cockpit without RPM indicator, with one that does have the RPM indicator? Of course it has to fit, but is there a cable that will allow the RPM indicator to work?
Thanks in advance....

RE: mazda 323 RPM indicator
you can just go to your local canadian tire and buy a tach meter (rmp indicator) you can get a sunpro one for about 40 bucks... its not to dificult to install you have to do a bit of costom work... but you would end up intalling it virtualy anywhere you wanted in the car....

Thanks for the replies...
Tachometer.... That's the word I was looking for. Sorry I'm from holland...
I just bought a cockpit from an identical car. The only difference is that the 'new' cockpit has a tachometer. But I understand from your replies that even though my car originally didn't have a tachometer, the electronic cable is installed. Right?
Meaning: To get the tachometer to work I don't have to connect a new cable from the coil..
Am I right?

RE: mazda 323 RPM indicator
I have done this same exact procedure you want to do. I had an 87 323 and purchased the instrument cluster with a tachometer. My car did not come with one from the factory. I exchanged them with no additional wiring. Just remove the original and re-install the new one in its place. The car is already equipped with wiring for either option.
