Mazda 626 LX Touring (Hatchback), 1991
I have a 1991 626 LX Touring Sedan (that means hatchback). I'm told that there were not too many of these made, and 1991 was the only year. Is this right. They seem to be scarce. Is this true? I only see 1 or 2 of these every year.
It's in pretty good shape, 135,000 miles. We've owned it for 16 years. We're thinking of selling -- I doubt if we could get more that $2,000. We're also thinking of fixing it up, since it's the best hatchback we've seen. A loal body shop says that it will cost $5-6000 to fix it up with a top-of-the-line paint job, and then it would be worth $4-5000! Mmmmm.
What do you think. If we just haven't seen as nice a hatchback of any age (unless we pay WAY more that $5-6000 for a nice hatchback) does this seem smart. Do you think we could find another one of these for $10-11,000 in super-good shape?
Thanks
Mickey
