I have Mazda 323,1.6,f6 engine with carb. I just wanted to know if i can replace its original engine with a higher engine,say a Mazda3 engine? If possible, what would be technical advice on doing the job and how much should budget for in Rands?

 

I'm not sure it'd fit. It would require a lot of parts, and a lot of custom work, if the engine/tranny would fit in the 323. The engine mounts are different, ecu and wiring harness would have to be changed, likely need custom driveshafts as well. Can't forget, how well would the transmission linkage fit?

 

Ok! I now get the picture. The next question would be, which engine would be best to swop with? a 2L f6, etude 2l engine any later engine.

My aim is to modify my ride to suprise most of the Mazda riders around Maseru (Lesotho) and its neighbouring country (South Africa)
