Is there a fuel filter in a 1999 Mazda 323 1.3l car
Hi,
Does a 1999 Mazda 323 1.3 litre car have a fuel filter? The reason I ask this is because 800 or so miles ago I installed a FullFlex Gold into my car - a traditional four door saloon type car with a boot. Consequently now I drive using E85. The man who put it in said at around 800 miles I'd want to change my fuel filter, especially since the car was a bit old (90000 miles on the clock).
I did my service today but the mechanic said to me he couldn't find the fuel filter which persumably is the same as a petrol filter. He rang around and one Mazda dealer said to him that it might be in the fuel tank but they weren't sure the car had a fuel filter. Opening up the fuel tank is a big job and I don't fancy shelling out loads of dosh for that.
From reading http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102113I see that certain Mazdas may not have a fuel filter and instead have what's called a fuel sck and this doesn't need changing.
I wondering so whether the 1999 Mazda 323 has a fuel filter at all? If so where would it be? What should I ask for if I go to a dealeras they don't seem to know about it here and is it easy to put in?

No filter other than the sock. Just run a good injector cleaner once every 2 months or so. Techron or Seafoam are the best. Some of the harsher cleaners break uo gas tank coatings. Techron and Seafoam decarbon the engine also so are really good.
