1984 B2000 Brake Pad Thickness
I just installed what was supposed to be brake pads for my '84 B2000. But, they don't fit over the rotor.
The meat on the pads is about 8mm thick and overall they are about 14mm. My rotors are 12mm thick and the gap in the caliper is around 17mm.
The way it is now, I would either need an 8mm thick rotor or maybe only 4-5mm on the pads.
Can anyone give me some idea what's going on here. One of these parts must not be correct.
Cheers!

I can't tell you maybe in the hundreds over the years customers DIY their own brakes and returning saying the pads or shoes were to thick to install. All because "DIY" and they didn't read even a simple Haynes, Chilton or Clymer auto repair manual on servicing brakes. LOL
I would say taintedsushi you are now the wiser and can help others when they have the same brake pad fitment issue! LOL
