Default 1991 b2600 No Compression Please Help

Hello All,
I recently purchased a 1991 Mazda B2600i extended cab 2wd. I could not believe it when I seen the title it is a one owner truck. I would love to keep it original and do not want to do a complete repower but my dilemma is this.
I bought the truck with the previous owner stating it needs a new motor, there is not any motors out there to replace this one. So my hope is I can still get the original motor running. After running the Vin# this truck was made in Hiroshima Japan. This motor seems to have had a new head installed however it never ran after it was installed. Spark plugs and oil is new, after running the camera in each of the plug holes no signs of damage to the pistons. My best educated guess is either the head is wrong or the Cam is wrong. According to the original owner the reason the head was replaced was because the engine overheated. Has anyone ever ran across this before any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you!

Typically more help available at mazdatrucking.com post there

The B2600i engines have a timing chain, maybe someone screwed up its install/camshaft install when the new head was installed.

What makes you think it has no compression?

It's just that until you test this, you don't know. Loaner compression tester available from Autozone, O'Reilly, etc.

If compression is OK, and camshaft timing/timing belt is OK, than can pretty much assume that it's either a spark or fuel issue. Spray some aerosol starting fluid into the air cleaner or carb, try to start, do this a few times. If it runs for a few seconds then quits out, you have a fuel delivery issue, start there. If it won't run at all when you do this, then it's a spark issue, work on that. This is a common first test to help isolate the problem. This is practically an ALWAYS: isolate whether spark or fuel.

Another thing on these trucks, which tend to have bad electrical part of the ignition switch as they wear/age: just because the engine can crank fine, doesn't mean that the electrical part of the ignition switch (the "run" circuit) is OK.

Absolutely no mention of a compression test carried out. Unless the head gasket been blown completely out, or you have bent every valve, you won't get no compression across all cylinders
