My od light will start flashing after driving my truck for a few miles. I do not notice any hard shifting or anything abnormal. I have to pull over and turn my truck off. When I start my truck again the issue is resolved. Any ideas on what this could be? I tried to research some possibilities, and it looks like it could be:

1. Solenoid
2 transmission range sensor
3. Transmission speed sensor

any advice would be helpful.

seen the 4WD selection switch pack up of a few of these before, also seen the 4WD selection motor die too.

 

No help on your problem, but since you have same truck as me was wondering if you have replaced the evap canister? have looked for location on you tube and don't get exact location. I'm too old to crawl under the truck seven times looking for that thing. thanks. good luck on your problem. I may have it come up on mine also.

yeah, I keep getting 626 or smaller (b2500) trucks and they just ain't the same animal. even Ford Ranger can be diff.
