Question 1999 b2500 automatic trany issue

Hello new to the forum Has anyone heard of not being able too shut off over drive? On my p/u that I just purchased there are no light's on the dash for o/d or on the gear shifter. I've pushed the button in and the tach stay's the same. Any input of where I should look would help.

I take that no one has heard of this? I have checked and cleaned all the connections on the trany ,checked all the fuses. Should I tear the dash and steering wheel apart and trace the wire's? The only reason I want too be able to shut off the o/d is while i'm in traffic so I don't eat up my brakes. Thank you for any input
