Question 1999 mazda b 2500 (dome light) ?

Hello , I was wondering if someone could tell me where the dome light switches are on the cab doors ? Yesterday all of a sudden the dome light would not shut off and the dashboard says that the door is ajar. I can't find the switch. is it built into the door lock mechanism? I have pulled the fuse for the dome light so it will not drain my battery or start a fire, but the door ajar is still on . Thanks in advance for any input

A little research confirmed what I thought. It is a Ford product and Ford used micro switches attached to the lock mechanism. Often all you have to do is spraying and soaking the latch mechanism with WD 40, electronics or MAF sensor cleaner and more WD 40. Open and close the door several times to work the stuff in.

If that does not do the trick you need to take the inner door panel off to get to the switch directly.

This gives you a good idea what you have to do:http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/10...t-process.html

I am glad it worked for you. Funny enough it did not work for me on the Windstar.
