2001 b2500
Hey all.. Performed a search but did not find any answers so I will post. Have a 01 B2500. About 180 on the odometer. At times after I drive and shut her off she will not start. Turns over just fine. After about an hour of sitting she will start. She has done this 4x and 2 of those times, after it started, the valves rattled as if no oil pressure. Have no idea why the 2 would be connected, but it doesn't do that all the time. Usually after the hour or so she will start and all is well. I bought a code reader and it only popped up an O2 sensor. I have read elsewhere that others have replaced the Temp Sensor. Something about the signal that the ECM was getting when the engine was hot. Could the sensor be bad even though it did not throw up a code?
Front sensor is for the ECM and rear one is to the gage? Cant find my freakin Haynes manual right now.
Also read it should have 5 volts to the sensor? This one has 9 switch on engine off. IF I am on the correct sensor.
Any help is appreciated.....

Your truck is a 2001 Ford Ranger 2500 in reality, and way more of those were sold, so I'd check on Ford Ranger sites for more help. Since 1994 Mazda and Ford Ranger trucks were essentially identical.
1. Do you have any check engine codes, is OBD2 compliant.
2. Next time truck won't start, I'd spray a little aerosol starting fluid into the intake and then floor the pedal and see if it starts then, can indicate whether the issue is fuel or spark related.
3. "Turns over just fine" is a comment on a good sex life !!!

hahaha unless you live in NY winters and only have 2wd
i added 420lbs right over the axle and baddaboom drives like a dream.
quick question:
are the interiors of the mazda also the same as the rangers?

My daughter had my '98 Frontier 2WD in a snowy locale 2 years, that is bad in snow too, typical of 2WD rear-drive vehicles, especially trucks with little weight in the back.
As to the interiors being the same as rangers - I don't know, might "suspect" yes.
