Default 4-WD Questions?

I am thinkin about buying a 4-Wheel Drive Mazda B600i, it has the same motor as my two wheel drive mazda does. 2.6 LiterFuel Injected ... the 4- wheel drive mazda already has the engine pulled, but the tranmission is still in place. what all would i have to swap out,and stuff i would need to buy to get my motor to fit in the 4;wheel drive. I heard somthing about a bell housing, but the tranny is still in there, and would everything match up right.

Thanks For Any Suggestions or Comments.

Do both vehicles have the same transmission? (i.e. both standard or automatic?) Even if different transmissions, not a big difference...everything else should match up the same.

The tranmissions are different. the 4-wheel drive one is a manul tranny. the only difference i saw was with the starters, one is on the drivers side on the 4-wheel drive, and on the passenger on the 2 wheel drive, but i think thier is a covering that comes off, when you pull the motor from the tranmission, let me know some more information... thanks

Are you going to get the blown engine to get the parts from? The seperation plate you are referring to is usually held on with small bolts behind the flywheel. Since you said transmissions are different, I presume yours is automatic from the 2WD. If so, you will need the flywheel, clutch assy, starter, and misc hardware to bolt on for the 4WD. Do not forget to install a pilot bearing before installing engine. You should be able to swap all other parts like the plate you are talking about.
