87 Mazda B2000 dies/cuts off suddenly
Hello, I am having a hell of a time diagnosing my 87 B2000. I cannot figure out why the engine suddenly dies? I have replaced the filter. its getting enough gas, maybe to much, because the level of the gas on the carb sight glass is on the upper side, not the middle as it is supposed to. I have swapped coils with my other b2000. The engine purrs like a cat, but then suddenly turns off, just like if you were to turn off the ignition. It will do it if you let it idle for a few minutes and it will tend to to it as well if you give it gas. It is responsive throughout the revs, but then just suddenly cuts off? Then it will fire up again once you turn the key to start it. It doesnt cough or start sputtering. It just dies suddenly and randomly. Any thouhgts would be much appreciated.

Your problem sounds more like spark issue than fuel issue, that's first part of a diagnosis.
These trucks are known for electrical portion of ignition switch going out, as they age, so check that out first, happened on my '88 B2200 about a decade ago.
If that checks out OK, suspect ignition pickup/ignitor inside the distributor.
