'99 B2500 starting issues
My truck has recently started having problems where I turn the key and it may start immediately or it may just give a click and do nothing. The battery is good, starter was rebuilt recently and I'm getting full power to lights, radio, etc. I replaced the clutch safety switch yesterday and that didn't change anything. It started instantly but after turning it off and trying again, it merely clicked. If anybody has experienced this, please give me an idea of where to look next. By the way, the click I hear when I turn the key does sound like it's coming from under the dashboard. Ignition switch, maybe?

We had such situation last week with our 2005 Yukon.
Took off and re-tightened already-clean battery cables.
Battery checked out fine by me, O'Reilly, and Autozone.
I swapped starter relay with identical relay used for parking lights.
Then I disconnected battery and took off bottom cover of fuse box/relay box in the engine compartment, removed three big cables and cleaned the not-so-dirty ring terminals with steel wool.
After this, started every time over next 2 days. However, as a precaution, I swapped in a replacement lifetime warranty starter from Autozone because it was 7 years old, and my only cost was my labor. I wouldn't have done this part if it hadn't been free.
So far: so good. As long as it works fine and doesn't strand Mrs. Cusser somewhere.....
