B2200 cylinder head question
Hi folks. My local Pullapart has an 87 B2200 that I believe has solid lifters. I say this because the emissions label gives valve clearance specs. My 89 has hydraulic lifters. They occasionally make a little noise on cold start, but it never lasts more that 15-20 seconds. What I would like to know is, is there any reason for me to put that head on my truck? Any performance gain to be had? Also, the trim on my doors is coming off at the ends. I know I'm not the only one it's happened to. I know I could run a screw through it, but is there any adhesive product that would hold it on for a few years? Thanks

1987 had both B2000 with mechanical lifters and B2200 with hydraulic lifters.
Personally, I wouldn't do anything if your 1989 engine runs fine, unless you want a spare cylinder head. By the way, you could pull the valve cover on the 1987 and would be quite obvious if it really had mechanical lifters.

Thanks Cusser. I started to take the cover off, but it was an hour to closing time and I had to get the Weber, including choke and throttle cables, an A/C compressor, and a couple of almost new tires/wheels off that truck.
