B2200 Distributor internal oil seal
#11
Thanks for this write up Cusser. I too did not know this seal could be a culprit. In fact, mine needs replacing pretty bad. Oil is leaking out where the cap joins the dist and the engine fan is blowing it all over everything, clear over to the drivers fender well and all over everything in between. I was wondering where the mess kept coming from.
One issue I have is mine is a 1990 and that seal only is listed up top 1989. I suppose the 90 dist is different. I'm researching that now

Looks like you removed those Steelers stickers on your utility box too!

Ok, I got the inner seal out. It's a metric in mm, 14x24x6. No need to pay extra for a Mazda branded part. These are available widely once you know the size. This is the size in my 1990 carbed B2200 but as Cusser already mentioned, yours may be different. Here are two examples of the seal from other makers. I'm going with the Honda one.
EAI VITON on Ebay
I actually like the looks of the VITON one but the Honda was cheaper and shipping will get it here sooner.
The Honda seal is actually for an ATV application

Steelers won't be decent for a few years: big salary cap issues, and Big Ben too immobile. Too many injuries, and time to rebuild.
I will say one thing: no Steelers player ever had a concussion and was cleared to play the following week in postseason. Big-name players like Antonio Brown was out v. Patriots a few years ago. Luck has not been on Steelers side the last decade either: Jesse James touchdown v. Patriots was ruled "not a catch" then a few weeks later exact same situation - TWICE - was ruled a catch !!! Officiating is sooooo hit-and-miss !!!

Hope everything works !!!! Let's just say that I was relieved when the truck started up, and more-than-pleased when I discovered that not only was the leak inside the distributor stopped (and I didn't need the aluminum foil cover any longer) but that the oil leakage down the side of the block was gone.
I want to emphasize that replacement of just the external distributor O-ring did NOT stop the leakage on the block, that was also due to the internal seal.
