Default B2600i 4x4 Front fender badge removal tips

I’ve search here and nothing. Google gives me generic videos of mostly adhesive badge removals.

Any tips or tricks to removing these huge B2600i 4x4 fender badges without damaging them??

Are there clips to be compressed from the inner part of the fender?

No. There is no access from inside unless I maybe take out the wheel well. I am thinking this is pry and pray.

…….or maybe I will try the fishing line/dental floss trick first to see if there are any tabs back there.

Surely somebody has taken these off.

I've only removed them from a B2600, not a B2600i. The B2600 ones were flat, just stuck on.

Dental floss, a hair dryer and the sun. If it's not held on with nuts, park the truck in the sun. Let the sun warm the area up. . Take a length of dental floss and wrap it around something on each end. (That saves your fingers.) I usually use popsicle sticks. Warm the badge up with a hair dryer a bit more. Pull the dental floss between the badge and fender. The soft wood won't hurt your paint. Once the badge is off, clean the left over glue with WD-40, diesel fuel, denatured alcohol or Goof Off. Don't use a razor blade as that can cut your paint.

Thanks guys! I am definitely going to start with the heat and dental floss. It doesn’t seem like I can break anything that way.

Maybe. Always be afraid of messing it up. That way you will respect it.

I used to work with guys where I had to hide the rubber mallets. Otherwise they would bust anvils with them.

I dental flossed (totally weak and useless) and fishing lined as best I could. The B2600i had 4 metal studs on it that set in holes with plastic grommets. No adhesive. The 4x4 had 2 plastic locator posts and the entire backside if the badge was a sticky mess of black mastic or rubber compound.

Both ended up coming off with a little prying with a putty knife and fortunately none of them broke.
