Default b3000 transmission problem????

I recently experienced a shifting problem w/ my '00 b3000 p-up. It is a automatic transmission w/ app. 100k miles on it. The truck makes a hard shift from 1st to 2nd and then shifts fine from there, and then happens again on the down shift from 2nd to 1st. I took it to a automatic trans. specialist, he did the scan(w/ a Snap-On scanner) and came up w/ a 1400 code which he told me was very "mysterious". Apparently after a couple of days of research he decided that the 1400 code referred to an EGR sensor that affected "high line pressure". So, a $108.00 part and $200.00 in labor later I have a brand spankin' new ERG sensor and the same shifting problem! Does anyone have any ideas on the problem and what it might take to fix it. Also, at the same time the hard shift started the speedometer needle now moves very eratically until I get to about 30mph. Thanks

I am experiencing the same problem right now. The transmission slammed into 2nd pretty hard, then the ABS light came on. After I shut off the engine and re-started it, the ABS never goes off and the transmission slams into 2nd pretty hard still. The speedometer does not register anything until after the shift into 2nd and very erratic on the downshift. I have a 99 B3000 automaticpickup by the way.

Did you ever solve your problem?

Anyone else out there that can help!?

UPDATE: Got it! Took it to AAMCO today and they replaced the speed and ABS sensor. Tranny fluid flush/fill and that's all she wrote. Luckily I didn't have hangten's problem...whew...

The speed/ABS sensor is the right fix for this problem. AAMCO charged me something like $250 w/ the fluid flush/fill. Being that you already took care of the fluid, I'd expect about $60-$70 off that. Ballpark maybe, $175
