Default B4000 engine swap question

I have a 2006 B4000 (4x4, 5speed manual) that just had the motor blown, and with all the research I've conducted so far, I cannot see why a 2007 B4000 motor will not fit my 2006? Can anyone shed some light on this for me please? I'm trying to source a used motor, and being told that the 2007 motor will not fit the 2006 application???

Thanks in advance!

Good, because there are a zillion more Rangers out there than 1994-on Mazda trucks.
