Default Brake upgrade

I bought a couple of parts B2000 trucks and plan on building a running truck this summer. I had a new 86 B2000 back in the 80s and 90s. Loved it but cant say that its brakes impressed me when it was a new truck. When I build my "new" mazda I think I would like to update the brakes to something that works better. Especially if I decide to repower it with something more powerful than the 2.0 factory engine. Are there any easy upgrades to a caliper with a larger piston or anything that would give me more stopping power. On my 1st one, I had a guy slam on his brakes in front of me back when it was pretty new and I had to hit the ditch. I put all my weight into the brake pedal and it wouldn't even come close to sliding a tire. These days the speed limit is faster and I probably drive faster regardless and I want my new one to have plenty of stopping power if I need it.

I could set you up with a kit that lets you mount the front brakes and master cylinder from a Ford Explorer on your Mazda. They are much bigger rotors and dual piston calipers. You would end up with 5 bolt hubs instead of 6 though. Send me a PM if you're interested.

ok 'm a busy guy as well! LOL
So slow down and pay attention to hitting the post button when you finish responding on a thread. It is not the forum that is having technical difficulties. LOL
I did notice you had no trouble posting this response or the PM you sent to the member?

Why would a "New Guy" want to come back and post anything, when they get treated this way?
