Cost Savings B.S. !!!!
So ^#%$&%$##$^&*^$#$%&*%$ tired of all these cost savings programs suppliers have taken on in the last decade.
First I noticed replacement mechanical fuel pumps no longer included the plastic spacer. Today I received a pair of B2200 front brake hoses from RockAuto, and the copper sealing washers were NOT included !!! So likely I'll need to search out some 10mm i.d. sealing washers or re-use the factory ones. Such B.S., Beck-Arnley parts made in Italy.

Nope, keeping them. Still considerably less than made-in-China stuff available through O'Reilly which appears to come with copper washers. It just wads my panties when necessary little stuff like this is not included, as a cost savings. I know price of copper is up, but this is ridiculous. I'm not expecting brake hoses to include fresh brake fluid, a bleeder kit, etc., but this is ridiculous to me !
I think when I got a warranty replacement of my power steering pump that it also did not include new copper banjo crush washers....
For old VWs, when one replaces rear brake shoes, you need a special "horseshoe" clamp on each side to attach the parking brake levers onto the new brake shoe. And you need a giant cotter pin on each side too (for the 36mm rear axle nut). How tough would it have been - going back 50 years or more - to include those in a set of new brake shoes?????

That’s insanely frustrating - and that plastic spacer on the mechanical fuel pump is basically unobtanium at this point. The even bigger issue is that people don’t know it’s required for proper actuation of the arm and they end up destroying the pump or damaging the camshaft. And missing washers that are required for installation of brake lines - sheesh, lame as it gets! What could go wrong?

In most O'Reilly, $3.99 search "fuel pump spacer" there

Maybe in the future look at the pictures of the part you may be getting as well the complete detail of what is included? If in doought you can alway inquire before you purchase?
I thought it was strange so I looked 1988 b2200 brake hose choices with and without washers?
Companies have been cutting corners for years maybe decades, so we just need to be smarter shoppers?
1988 MAZDA B2200 2.2L L4 Brake Hose | RockAuto
DYNAMIC FRICTION35080013 {#350-80013} with washers
SUNSONG2203972 with washers
Dealer parts DONOT and seldom come with all the parts on tens of thousands of available parts. You need to order everything right down to washers on many things. Fuel pumps rarely come with the gaskets or even spacers on many applications and if you order a bolt make sure you order the corresponding nut and washers as well. All have separate part number unless it states or illustrates otherwise.

Cusser needs to "Smarten Up"!
LOL!
I have bought the copper washer assortment tray at Harbor Freight and have used those before.......no issues with them to date......made in China, I'm sure, but it allows me to have them in hand when I need them.
