I'm facing a peculiar issue with my 2015 Mazda BT50, and I'm hoping to get some advice or insights from the community. The problem is that my fog lights don't turn on when I press the button, but they only activate when I have my high beams on. It's quite perplexing as I expected the fog lights to work independently. I've checked the fuses and bulbs, but everything seems to be in order. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or knows what might be causing this? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot and fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

 

Your 2015 has apparently been wired up that way, by factory or a previous owner. If you want independent control of the fog lights, then their power needs to come from an independent circuit, not the high beam circuit.

 

Also, check your Owner's Manual to see if it gives any detail on this.
