I have learned that "Japanese" vehicles like this actually use JIS head screws, NOT Phillips. So I just recently bought a #2 JIS screwdriver through Amazon for my B2200 and Frontiers.

I also read that some folks take a #2 Phillips a blunt the tip a "tad" on a grinder to make it fit JIS screws better.

ok, some updates:

i still couldn't get the screws out, so i just unscrewed the whole headlight housing and slipped the replacement lights in, but they dont fit, so i'm going to return them.

i also got replacement belts for the alternator and AC. couldn't figure out why the AC adjustment bolt wasn't loosening the belt tension, but since the AC doesnt work anyways, i just left it as is and swapped the alternator belt (which badly needed replacing as it was old and too thin anyways).

the lights are a disappointment, but i feel good having gotten at least the alternator belt swapped.

It has mostly to do with the lens. It is also why I recommend the brand I did. I know the original manufacture long before they sold and were bought be another top aftermarket company. The lens clarity is extremely exceptional which directly affects the illumination brilliance.

The AC compressor is held in place by about four bolts and screws, and all must be loosened so that the compressor can be rotated to install/loosen/tighten the belt. If your AC is not working anyway, agree to just leave the belt off.

just got back from a road trip with my brother in law, and had a new headlight waiting for me when i came home!

i had to use a file to make a groove in the four screws that were completely rusted into the housing, and i was able to carefully work them back out with the help of some penetrating oil and a flathead. then it was simple! everything is looking good, i'll just have to adjust once it gets dark out, but looks functional so far. very happy with it!
