Default Mazda water temp sending unit?

I can't find the sending unit for the water temp on my 89 Mazda B2200 to save my life. The manual says it is "adjacent" to the thermostat. I have looked all around it and cant find it.

There is a sending unit lower than the thermostat but it seems to low like that may be for the oil or something. Any ideas?

on my truck (1990 b2200) standing at the front bumper
facing the truck you follow the upper rad hose to the thermostat housing
then go over about 1 inch to the right
and down about an inch an a half (below the little hose) and there it sits.

hope this helps let me know either way
