how did you figue out the trans mating to the ford
i know the rangers came with manual tranny's from mazda did this have a play in this
did you swap bell housings ????

nice colour choice looks great

It was a real challenge. The eventual solution was to totally remove the entire body off the frame and the shim and install the bell housing and the 289 while the body was off.. I also had to machine a brass pilot bushing to fit into the 289 and the new 302. I now have a new Center force pressure plate and 10 1/2 fiber clutch that had a 29 spline installed. The first time I tried the clutch it virtually snapped the Mazda forks off the clutch fork using a new Mazda slave sleave.
