Default Mysterious Control Arm Stud

So last night a caliper seized up, on my '90 B series. I wacked with a hammer to get home. I was changing the brakes out this afternoon and spotted this stud, nothing mounted on the bottom obviously nothing on top. I presume this is where the sway bar was mounted. I have looked at a diagram and did not see a stud sticking out the control arm, unless I am blind.

Would anyone know what this stud is?

Can you post another photo but not so close-up? I'll be returning this afternoon and could look at my 1988.

Is the threaded part actually the top part of the sway bar?

Looking at diagrams, yes I believe that is where the sway bar mounts.

Also correction, I must be blind as I had a proper look under the truck and saw the sway bar mounted. Should've looked at the diagrams, before asking.
