Default Need help removing tranny B3000

Does anyone know a trick to get at the top two tranny bolts on 94 b3000. Can the engine and tranny be hoisted out as one piece threw the top? Which is the easier way, removing the tranny from under neath or pull the engine and tranny out as one........

depends on how much work you want to do
does the engine need to come out for any reason/repair
or just the tranny
if its just the tranny then
with the tranny supported remove the tranny support crossmember lower the jack/support the engine will tilt on the mounts(watch the fan does not hit the rad) then you can get the two top bolts out
you never said auto or manual so follow the link.

Thanks for the reply! I managed to get the top two bolts out using two wrenches , one for the bolt and the other for leverage. I might try tilting the motor when I re-install the tranny. Just wondering what would have to come off the motor before it can be tilted? Also wondering if it's possible to remove the oil pan by just tilting the motoror do I have to lifting it. If you have any advise I'd appreciateyour input. Thanks again!

refering to the top bolts, a long extention and a swivel work good. As far as the oil pan it depends on your clearance. But I would do it now while the tranny is out that way if you hace to lift the engine a few inches the bell housing won't get in the way.
