Exclamation question ?

I have a 1989 Mazda B2200, the truck has a electric fuel pump. Can I replace the fuel pump with a mechanical fuel pump on the head?
(the engine is a 2.2L)

Guessing that your B2200 has an automatic transmission, those came with the electric fuel pumps where the 5-speeds had the mechanical.

Actually, that's a very good question, and I always wondered about that, why Mazda seemed to make things so complicated on these trucks (like the automatic trucks have a different (2-row) radiator, and must've been cost savings to put 1-row on the 5-speeds. Anyway, I don't know, but would suggest posting your question over at MazdaTrucking.com, more technical guys there.

Technically, I think there's a block off plate on the rear of the cylinder head, similar to what EFI B2200 models have.
