rear fog light.
hi all.
like to ask if anyone can shed some light, excuse the pun, on why my rear fog light is not working.
the rear driver side (UK) cluster includes the reflector lens and lamp holder but it doesn't work when the fog lights are activated from the stalk on the steering column.
the fog light icon, orange colour, comes on but no power 12v is seen at the lamp.
the fuse location 14 designated as r fog has no fuse and not labelled to take one. see image.
the manual lists fuse 14 as r fog at 10 but does
fusebox layout like mine
owners manual
not state a protected component.

So......I copied this off of the net......apparently only one side of the car has a wired in Rear Fog Light.......Is one side of your rear fog lights working? Or none at all?
Here is the article I read......
In America, only the left side of the rear fog light is wired. In the United Kingdom, the right side of the light is wired. However, some drivers might feel tempted to make both the rear fog lights work by fixing the wiring on their own but this might create safety issues.
Other drivers might confuse rear fog lights with brake lights and the confusion can create road safety hazards. When a vehicle’s one rear fog light is on, it is assumed that the driver must be at a particular speed and the driver in the other car can follow the same speed to avoid any accident.
However, if both the lights are on at the rear side, then another driver might confuse it for braking and stop the car. If the person driving behind your car understands that you are using both the rear fog lights, when you hit the brake, they might assume that your vehicle is still moving.

Only the Driver’s Side Rear Fog Light Wired, Why?
While both the rear fog lights are installed, only one of them is wired, which is the driver’s side of the vehicle. So why is there two rear fog lights on the car? The reason is to make the vehicle look symmetrical from the back.In America, only the left side of the rear fog light is wired. In the United Kingdom, the right side of the light is wired. However, some drivers might feel tempted to make both the rear fog lights work by fixing the wiring on their own but this might create safety issues.

yes it does seem odd that only one side is wired. it's because I think one side the position on the rear assembly is used as a reversing light or back up light as called in the US and the other side the same position as the rear fog lamp.
it's a mystery how it's now stopped working but the orange display icon is working along with the relay. but... there is no designated fuse. I can see a long weekend session looking at the wiring around the relay next.
thanks for the input
