Agree, and I have previously pounded the 3\8 (both 6pt and 12pt) on and it slips off .The metal of the bolt is soft which has also made it difficult.

yes i agree with the 3/8 theorey because it sounds like rust has shrunk the bolt, remember if all else fails use a damage bolt remover which is designed to tighten up on the bolt as you loosen it you can get a set for about 20 dollars just remember not to use a impact but use a large wrachet or a johnson bar and i garauntee you'll get those bolts out.

You did not mention in you post if you have put a torch on them. Heat will loosen up rust and lock tight.

working with heat gotta be carfull obviously of melting seals and gaskets and such. I dont know how those hubs are put together but know before applying heat.
