I have found an '88 626 w/ the 2.0i and want to know if i can use the block and head and keep mine carb-ed. Im going for low and slow! and dont want to have to totally rebuild the intire truck. Default RE: same block?

i dont see why not...honestly..i would call a dealership, and ask for the part number on the head of each vehicle...then ask for the block part number for each...if they are the ame..youre golden..if not, ask the parts person if they know if the 2 are interchangable!

the fwd and rwd block is the same but the heads are diffrent. I just did this build and did lots of checking on the parts. you would need to use the truck oil pump pickup tube and the truck oil pan, the block and internals are the same. the cam , head, valve cover, intake and exh are not swapable from fwd to rwd.
