Default Sneaky coolant leak

Hi all,
I'm having trouble with an '07 2.5 bt50 getting warm and loosing coolant. the gauge doesnt hit the red. and it will cool down quite quickly. but i am constantly needing to fill the radiator. i stopped past a carwash this morning and gave the engine bay a quick blast and notised coolant dripping from what i beleive to be the turbo wastegate. there also seems to be a good coating of oil on the turbo and along that side of the block and down to the trans case. i did also notice oil along the injecter valley. can anyone help me with ideas before i spent a good coin at the mechanic?
Cheers in advance

Is there a coolant leak? Or are you losing coolant without seeing a leak? If so, you may have a blown head gasket and the lost coolant is exiting out your exhaust pipe.

Welcome to the forum also!

Yeah i think you might be right. im loosing coolant with no easy sign of a leak. but if the coolant is exiting through the exhaust, would that have to pass via the cylinder? how much fluid has to enter the oil to start milking the oil? would there be a way to tell if its busted through the gasket and going out the exhust?

You can also pull your spark plugs and have a look at the color/condition of the portion of them that sticks into the combustion chamber......pull them all and line them up to look at them together.......if you have one plug that is nice and clean, and the insulator is nice and white.....you may have found the cylinder that coolant/water is leaking into. It would also pressurize the cooling system as well, typically.

The early BT-50's were common for internal leaks from the EGR cooler.
