some questions about the B2200
i got a 1988 B2200 yesterday and its automatic, when i was driving on the highway i couldnt get it to go any faster than 70 mph and that was going downhill..
i took off the air intake box and realized that all the vacuum lines were gone..there was one going from the carb to the distributer and thats it..so i was wondering if anyone had a detailed vacuum line diagram?
another question i had was what are the common motor swaps people do to the B2200?
i was thinking along the lines of a 1.8L miata motor or maybe a newer fule injected mazda pickup motor..
and the last thing is its auto..has anyone or does anyone know if its possible to do a 5 speed conversion?
thanks a lot

RE: some questions about the B2200
The previous idiot who yanked all the vacuum lines can be to blame for the trucks problems. On top of completly hosing the carb (unless it's been swapped for a weber) the automatic should have a vacuum modulator which will require a vacuum line to the engine for the automatic to function properly.
Here is a page with a lot of B2200 info as well as the most detailed vacuum diagrams you're going to find (more detailed than the factory manual even).
