Default Where to get key made?

I lost the only set of keys that came with my 1990 Mazda B2200 and I was wanting to know if anyone can still make one? I called the dealership they said they can only cut keys by vin or code back to 10 years or less. Called the locksmith and was told the same thing. I am wondering if I am out of options here or if anyone knows of a place that could cut one by vin? The ignition cylinder has been replaced so it takes a different key but I at least want one for the doors and gas lid since mine doesn’t have a latch to release it like my 89 does.

Hopefully I will find the keys sometime as I lost them here at home but we have too much stuff and I haven’t been able to locate them. I have pictures of the keys someone told me some places can cut one by a picture. I was going to get extras made but since the exact blanks had been discontinued I had ordered some and was going to go get them cut but that never happened.

I want to find them soon as this is my project truck and I need to get it running and on the road. If anyone can point me in the right direction then I appreciate it.

Replace the locks with a new set with key. There are probably only 3 locks for your truck (unless you have a locking glove box) -- the two doors and filler lid.

Me- I'd first call another locksmith. I recently had 3 different keys made for my 1971 Volkswagen locally, 3 different key blanks.

Yeah I will check with some others. I can’t believe I misplaced the keys here at home. . I have been told before that they have a thing they can stick in the key hole and ignition and it will form to the shape of the key and they can make it that way but haven’t found a local locksmith that’s had that. Hopefully I won’t have to replace anything.

To get the new car key, you can have it from a local locksmith at a reasonable cost.

I know this is an older post, but.......
don't forget, the lock cylinder in the passenger door has the 4 digit key code stamped into the outer casing of it. You should be able to get a key made from that.
Of course, you will need to take the door panel off on the inside of the door, and then unhook the rod going to the lock cylinder, pull off the retaining clip, and then slide the lock cylinder out of the door from the exterior.......you may need to clean the dust & dirt off of it to see the 4 digit stamped on key code.......I probably have pictures.....somewhere!

Try Walmart, as I once had a duplicate made there.

Thanks but Walmart is pretty expensive as compare to locksmith sugar land near me.

Come to think of it, Walmart probably hasn't carried key blanks for the old original Japanese "B" series trucks in many years.

If it were me, I would look online say on eBay for some old blanks that were specifically designed for your truck. I would then take them to a locksmith to have them professionally cut.

Good idea too.

Still this. A few years ago I bought a pair of new door locks through RockAuto, and had local Ace Hardware make duplicate/additional keys. But most likely a good locksmith should have.
