Navigation is optional on CX-30 Premium Package?
I plan to downgrade to a CX-30 from a 2019 CX-5 GTR. I went to the Mazda official website and went through the motion of building a CX-30 Premium but when I went through the accessories selection, the Nav system is a $450 option! Is it true that Navigation is not standard on the high end CX-30 model?

Yes, they include Apple/Android play instead which used to be optional. They expect that most people use their phones. I previously had a Mazda 3 and liked the built in Nav but then the subscription expired and I couldn't update the maps. So long term this is better.

As dave2020 said, CarPlay / Android Auto is included and most people go with that. I suspect all manufacturers will stop selling their own systems in a few years.
I have a 2019 Mazda3 with technology that is similar to the CX-30. I negotiated the Mazda navigation into the purchase of my Mazda. I would have gone to Amazon and bought it there for under $100.00.
I prefer the Mazda system on a day-to-day basis. I find it integrates better into the system and is easier to use. I like the speed limit signs and the indicator on the speedometer that I don't get without navigation. I like the way it looks and how it is controlled. (Neither system is all that easy to use now that Mazda is killing the touchscreen.)
Over the weekend, I went for a 6 hour drive and used Waze for navigation. Waze is more dependable for avoiding tolls and finding new locations, more accurate in the calculated time to arrival, has better information about hazards on the route. A huge advantage of Waze is that podcasts on the phone are paused when Waze is telling me directions and they are not on the Mazda system.
I wouldn't recommend the Mazda system for $450.00 but for under $100.00 it is worth the price to me. (Make sure you find the SD Card that is made for your year and model.)

I’m so used to the Mazda Nav on my 2019 CX-5 GTR because the speed limit shows on the HUD. Without Navigation, for sure, there is no speed limit display. If I finally decide to purchase a CX-30 I will buy the Nav SD card from Amazon.

Nav card
I didn't know you could get the cards on Amazon. What's the part number on the card? The CX-30's not listed yet. I was using Apple maps since it also pauses podcasts. Didn't know Waze does too and will try that. Google maps didn't.

You could call a dealership parts department and ask for the part number.
