Thank you but it was actually required to have in my line of work both in my own shops and places I have worked. I think with all the upgrades and programs for various special platforms I have invested about $8+ thousand in it.

I suppose that if you do it full time, you must have to bring a nice set of tools & good equipment with you.

But for those of us mere mortals who cannot afford or justify an expenditure of thousands of dollars..............we gotta do what we gotta do.

Honestly from a cost perspective it is better tor the owner to find a shop that employees and ASE and pay for a diagnostic to get the better answer that will quickly solve problems based on any operating system from 2002 to present that is OBDII and any owner of a Mazda that has Skyactiv technology.
I don't know why none educated and none trained/experience people think that this is there 19966 Cornet, and they know simply by birth that they can solve problem effectively if at all on newer vehicles. I don't think we are going to see to many Tesla forums with DIY solving problem with them when they start to arise, and they will. There ECU is programed the same as in a MAZDA ECU.

But I will say DIY and homebrew mechanics working on their own vehicles and people that do not keep up on basic maintenance keep me in the style and comfort of living that semi-retired and can technically retire completely on. $$$$$

The only forums that are worse for DIY working on their cars is motorcycle owners and those forums. A large majority twist empirical information, the laws of nature and the physical world we live in even when they are presented with facts and figures on how to work on their bikes. I think a majority of them belong to the Flat Earth Believers Society? lol

So why even try to help someone on this forum.......if it is hurting your bottom line?

Most of the members on this car forum, just like all of the other car forums, are DIY people that are looking for help from other similar car owners that may have discovered how to fix the issue that they are having. Putting them down because they are not "certified" as you are, and don't have the "tools" that you have access to, only makes you look like a *****......but maybe you haven't noticed that yet?

What are you another crusader on the forum.. rolmao.
I am not going to respond to my first thought about your post. I am hoping it was more in jest then to be a as you used the descriptive derogatory word "pri*k"? I actually respect that you have good information to post in the Mazda pickup threads. Maybe you notice it is rare I post in them? Maybe someday I will post a few pictures of mine? Let me just say there is nothing I cant keep my hands off of from upgrading.

As for my posting style I enjoy helping most members. Those that are trying and not assuming that because they can access an ECU or go on line as if they are self diagnosing their health concerns( As a past certified EMT that's right... I am on a health care provider forum and if you take vehicles out to the post from DIY Doctors its hilarious) know what they are doing. BTW for my own personally scanner I often carry with me and also help friends and neighbors with their problems is a basic Cen-Tech .I know how to use it and can solve all but ABS or TCM and some really challenging anomalous ECU operating conditions. So it about 80% helpful.

If members are so thinned skinned that they cant take direct and to the point information what can I say. I am not helping to gain support and votes to become the next leader of the free world.
So please go back to the threads you are best suited for or contribute some useful information on this thread besides going out of your way to do a personal attack. ROLMAO!!
Now I may need to go see if at some time I stepped on your toe/pride with something your posted somewhere on this forum? lol
